Seed Production
Agriculture University, Kota undertakes breeder seed production programme to fulfill the requirement of breeder seeds not only for the state of Rajasthan but for other states also, mainly on indent basis. To meet the farmers’ demand of seed it also contribute towards production of certified seed of improved varieties of crops, production programme for truthfully labeled (TFL) seed is also carried out at Research stations, substations and KVK farms for making truthfully labelled (TFL) seed available to the farmers. The activity is gaining multiplier effect to benefit farmers of the State.

Mechanized Agriculture Farm
Mechanized Agriculture Farm is located in the vicinity of Agricultural Research Station, Ummedganj, Kota with a mandate of quality seed production. It is the only farm of the University, which generates maximum revenue and fulfils the requirement of breeder seeds not only for the Rajasthan state but other states also.
The farm has gross area of 484.0 ha out of which 267.0 ha is cultivable. It is fully utilized for breeder seed production and around 6000 q breeder seed of wheat, gram, coriander, soybean and paddy is being produced every year. The land of the farm is irrigated by canal and tube wells. The soils of the farm are clay to clay loam and land is productive. It has all facilities for production, grading and storage of quality seed.
